Whilst on holiday in Eire for the first time, I took the precaution of noting all the loco & coach numbers, just in case I got myself interested in Irish railways at a later date. I did, so can now declare that this is former 'A' class Sulzer 048, seen moving some wagons past the turntable at Cork Kent station, in the Summer of 1984.Previous | NextIt says 54 on the front, but the side number is clearly 054! This loco was one of 34 members of this class to be found here, at Inchicore Works & depot, on 21st March 1994, out of a total of 56 locomotives.
