Now, this is one ODD station! Kilkenny is a terminus, situated a short spur away from the main Mallow-Trallee line. Trains using this route have to run round here, take the train back to the main line, then run round AGAIN to continue to Tralee. As can be seen it's also a strange platform arrangement! 083 does the honours en route to Tralee. 19th March 1994.Previous | NextThis photograph shows in detail the overhead signalbox at Waterford, as 083 runs round in preparation for the return trip to Limerick Junction. 21st March 1994.
